This isn’t How you thought things would be.
Maybe you thought getting pregnant would be easier. That you'd have more answers by now, or that the next test, appointment, or treatment would finally bring good news.
Maybe you've experienced a pregnancy complication or loss, and you're facing grief, unanswered questions, or uncertainty about what comes next. Things that once felt hopeful may now feel difficult to trust.
Or maybe you imagined bringing your baby home would feel different. That you'd feel more like yourself, more connected, or more certain about what you were doing.
Instead, you may feel exhausted by uncertainty, disconnected from your body or relationships, or overwhelmed by emotions you didn't expect.
Even when the people around you mean well, their advice or reassurance doesn't always leave you feeling understood. You might wonder if you're the only one struggling, or whether you'll ever feel like yourself again.
This experience can hold both meaning and difficulty, hope and grief, love and overwhelm.
Those feelings can exist together. And you deserve space to make sense of them without having to explain, minimize, or justify what you're going through.

Difficult experiences can leave you feeling untethered, overwhelmed by emotions and decisions that feel especially difficult when there's so much uncertainty.
Therapy gives you room to pay attention to what you’ve been carrying and how it’s affecting your life.
Together we can work toward understanding your emotional responses, processing difficult experiences, strengthening your relationships, and finding ways to care for your needs alongside everything else you’re navigating.

You might be grieving a loss that others don't fully understand, feeling resentment over how much of the process falls on you, or wondering how much longer you can keep going.
Whether you're actively pursuing treatment, recovering from pregnancy loss, or questioning what comes next, therapy can offer a place to work through the emotional weight of it all.
Together, we can explore ways to manage overwhelming emotions, navigate difficult decisions, communicate your needs, and maintain meaningful relationships and experiences outside of your fertility journey.

On top of feeling physically or emotionally exhausted, you may be navigating unexpected challenges and complicated feelings as you adjust to life with a baby.
Maybe you're experiencing changes in your mood, struggling to understand what your baby needs, or noticing that things with your partner aren't quite the same. At times, it can seem like everyone else has parenthood figured out while you're still trying to find your way.
You may be processing a difficult or traumatic birth, a NICU stay, or ongoing concerns about your baby's health, all while feeling the weight of a postpartum experience that looks different from what you'd imagined.
Therapy can help you make sense of these changes, process difficult experiences, and build trust in your decisions while finding greater balance between the demands of parenthood and everyday life.
Thow therapy can help
With support, you can work toward:
Feeling less consumed by difficult emotions, with ways to recognize and respond to overwhelm before it takes over your day.
Trusting yourself and your decisions, even when the future is uncertain or other people have strong opinions about what you should do.
Feeling more connected to your body and yourself, as you navigate physical changes, loss, or experiences that have altered how you see yourself.
Communicating your needs more clearly, whether that means asking your partner to share responsibilities, setting boundaries with family, or finding people who know how to support you.
Making room for more of your life, including relationships, interests, small moments of enjoyment, and the parts of yourself that may have felt distant lately.
Even when you can't change what you're going through, you can change how you move through it, so there's more room for the people, experiences, and parts of life that matter to you.
Hi, I’m amanda
I'm Dr. Amanda Medrano, a clinical psychologist specializing in perinatal and early childhood mental health.
For more than a decade, I've worked with individuals and families navigating complex emotional experiences, significant life transitions, and the impact of stress and trauma on their lives.
I know that fertility struggles, pregnancy loss, and early parenthood don't happen in isolation. They affect how you understand yourself, connect with others, and move through everyday life.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, attachment-focused, and trauma-informed. We'll work together to address what you're experiencing while also exploring how your relationships, personal history, and life circumstances may be contributing to how you're feeling.
I'm here to offer a space where you can speak openly, explore what's happening beneath the surface, and begin making sense of what you need.
Ready to beGIN your journey?
The first step is simply reaching out.
Finding a therapist is a personal decision, and it’s important that you feel comfortable with the person you’re choosing to work with.
We’ll talk about what you’re experiencing, what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, and how we might work together to support your needs.
There’s no expectation that you’ll have everything figured out or know exactly what to say. We can start wherever you are.
